Govt. trying to sabotage the agitation - SAYSS

Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti strongly condemned the statement made by Congress spokesperson at New Delhi day before yesterday describing the separatists Hurriyat of the valley and Sangharsh Samiti of Jammu as the two faces of the same coin. Taking a serious note the remark of the congress spokesperson, Manish Tiwari, the Samiti expressed that it clearly exposes the face of Congress leadership at the centre and the manner in which it is looking at the mass movement of Jammu people. It added that while the local Congress leaders are rendering their support, their centre leadership is turning a blind eye to this movement of nationalistic People and its comparison to the secessionist activity of the Hurriyat in Kashmir is shameful.

The Sangharsh Samiti urge upon the local Congress leaders to impress upon their high command leading the ruling UPA regime headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh to concede the demand of restoration of land to the SASB or otherwise these leaders may resign from the Congress and join the mass movement. The contradiction between approach of the local Congress leaders of Jammu and policies of their high command are creating misconception about the role of local Congress leaders and creating a situation of mistrust and conflict. In this scenario, if any mishappening or clash takes place during the protests or demonstrations, the responsibility shall lie on the local and the central leadership of the Congress party.

As a part of the funeral procession of Centre Government call given by the Sangharsh Samiti processions and demonstrations were held locality-wise at several places in the Jammu Region in which the effigy of the Centre Government was carried and burnt at the centre places of various towns and districts of the region.

Taking serious note of the incidents of looting and arson in Jammu and its outskirts, Sangharsh Samiti is of the strong opinion that some government agents are involved in these incidents. Samiti has already pointed out that some cops in civics have been indulged in such activities to sabotage the on-going agitation. Samiti further pointed out that in Kashmir Valley some government agents have been terrorizing Hindus while as in Jammu these agents have been indulged in looting and arson to defame the on-going mass movement.
Shifting all blames on State Government for prevailing situation, Samiti reiterated its demand of recalling Governor N N Vohra who has been adopting wrong policies to sabotage the on-going movement.

Spokesperson
Dr. Narinder Singh
