Mangat Ram’s portrait removed by Brahman Sabha

The portrait of veteran Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma which found place with stalwarts of Jammu region at Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha including Pt Prem Nath Dogra and Pt Tarlochan Dutt was removed today.
Mangat Ram was also issued a notice asking him to explain his position and clear stand regarding Shri Amarnath Shrine land row within one day, following which a decision for his expulsion from Brahman community would be taken up by the Sabha executive committee.
A serious concern was expressed by the Sabha members regarding the conduct of Pt Mangat Ram Sharma and Jugal Sharma ex-ministers from the community, with respect to ongoing agitation for restoration of land to the Shrine Board. It was also observed that role of the duo remained anti-Jammu in general and found detrimental to the ongoing struggle in particular. Both belong to Brahman community and have all along been working against the expectations of the said community.
